Many people feel nervous before their interview, but rest assured: there’s nothing to be nervous about. Since you’ll be interviewed by Sam, our AI interviewer, it’s a very low pressure interview. Plus, our editors will help you sound your very best in the final cut.

Also, interviews are audio-only, so sweatpants and bedhead are welcome!

Our top tips for a great interview:

  1. Relax and take your time Take all the time you need to answer questions, pause while you think, start answers over, and skip questions. We’ll be editing the interview to make you sound your very best so there is no need to feel rushed.

Our professional editors will take out pauses, “likes” and “ums”, false starts, and repetitive answers. You’ll hear the final edit before anyone else, have a chance to make changes, and it won’t be live till you’re 100% happy with it.

  1. Share the good, the bad and the lessons learned Nobody is perfect. When you share struggles and mistakes from your life, you come across as genuine and relatable. And if you can share what you’ve learned from these experiences, that’s even better. Having self awareness and learning from your mistakes is a far more endearing quality than being perfect!

  2. Err on the side of openness We have approximately 45 minutes to record your interview. You will be asked some straight-forward questions that are quick to answer, and some questions that are more personal and thought-provoking. The more your answers get at the heart of who you are and what’s important to you, the more magical your episode will be.

In one interview, a man shared the incredible life lessons he had learned after a time he felt like he let his son down. A woman shared how her experience overcoming ovarian cancer in her 20s had influenced how she has approached her life every single day since beating it. What are the important experiences that have made you who you are? What philosophies do you hold that impact how you live your life? Touching on these is what makes for a powerful episode.
